- The wait for a first payout runs from about 1 day to 30 days after funding, depending on the firm.
- The profit split is only one of six payout rules. Winning-day requirements, minimums, caps and consistency rules decide when you can withdraw and how much.
- The same month of trading can qualify for a payout at one firm and not at another. Check the rules against how you actually trade before you buy.
Prop firms advertise the split: 80%, 90%, sometimes 100%. The split tells you what share of a payout is yours. It doesn’t tell you when you can ask for one, how much you can take, or what can stop you. Those are set by the payout rules, and they differ more between firms than prices do.
This page explains each rule, compares them across every firm we track, and works through eight days of trading at three firms. For how much of your profit you should withdraw, see after you pass: buffers and payouts.
The six payout rules to check before you buy
- The wait before your first payout. Take Profit Trader, MyFundedFutures and BluSky allow a request within about a day of funding. Earn2Trade pays monthly, and BrightFunded’s first payout comes 30 days after funding.
- Qualifying days. Many futures firms want a set number of winning days first. Topstep, Lucid and Bulenox ask for five days of $150 or more; Alpha Futures asks for five of $200 or more; Apex asks for five profitable days of $50 or more.
- Minimums and caps. A minimum stops you withdrawing small amounts: $500 at Apex and MyFundedFutures, $1,000 at Bulenox. A cap limits each request or cycle: $1,500 per request at Alpha Futures, $2,000 per request at Lucid, $2,000 per cycle at Legends, $10,000 per 30 days at Maven.
- The split, and its conditions. Splits often depend on something else. TradeDay pays 80% above its payout threshold and 50% below it. FundingPips pays 60% to 100% depending on how often you withdraw. Bulenox pays 100% of the first $10,000, then 90%.
- Consistency at payout. A best-day rule caps how much of your profit can come from one day: 50% at Apex, 40% at Alpha Futures and Funded Futures Network, 35% at E8 Futures, 30% on Phidias funded cash accounts. It usually resets each payout cycle. Our consistency guide has a checker.
- How often, and how fast. After the first payout, some firms pay daily (MyFundedFutures, BluSky), some weekly (Alpha Futures), most forex firms every 14 days, and Earn2Trade monthly. Processing ranges from same day (BluSky) to a 48-hour review (For Traders).

Eight days of trading, three firms
Here is the same trader’s first eight funded days on a 50K account, applied to the payout rules at three futures firms. Total profit: $2,400, with a best day of $1,100.
| Day | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profit | +$600 | −$200 | +$1,100 | +$250 | −$150 | +$400 | +$200 | +$200 |
| Firm | Rule that decides it | Can this trader request a payout? |
|---|---|---|
| MyFundedFutures | Daily payouts from 24 hours after the first funded trade; $500 minimum; no consistency rule when funded | Yes, from day 2, once there’s at least $500 to take |
| Topstep | Five winning days of $150 or more | Yes, from day 7, the fifth day of $150+ (days 1, 3, 4, 6 and 7) |
| Alpha Futures | Five winning days of $200+, and the best day no more than 40% of the cycle’s profit; up to $1,500 per request | Not yet. The $1,100 day is 46% of $2,400. The cycle needs $2,750 of profit before $1,100 is no more than 40% of it. |
Nothing about the trading changed, only the rules. A trader who often has one big day in a week will find best-day rules slow payouts down. One who wins small amounts most days will qualify quickly almost everywhere. Being eligible doesn’t mean you should take everything: the safe-withdrawal formula shows how much to leave in the account.
Payout terms to read twice
- Limits on the number of payouts. E8 Futures closes each account after five payouts and replaces it with a free challenge. Apex allows up to six payouts on a performance account.
- Early-payout caps. Goat Funded Trader caps the first two payouts at 6% or $10,000.
- “Up to” splits. FundedNext’s header says up to 95%, while its rules table lists 80%. Plan on the lower number until you’ve qualified for more.
- Discretionary extras. A bonus described as discretionary, such as Alpha Capital’s $250 fee credit on the fourth payout, is not something you can count on.
- Small-withdrawal fees. Take Profit Trader charges $50 on withdrawals under $250.
- Rules that change. Payout rules change more often than prices. Our rule-change tracker logs each change we find, and you can get an email alert for any firm.
Questions
Which prop firm pays out the fastest?
Take Profit Trader, MyFundedFutures and BluSky let you request a payout about one day after funding, and pay daily after that. The full ranking is on futures prop firms with the fastest payouts.
Is a 100% profit split always better than 80%?
No. A higher split with a long wait, a high minimum or a strict best-day rule can pay you less, later, than a lower split with simple rules. Compare all six rules, not just the split.
Can a prop firm refuse a payout?
Yes, if it finds you broke a rule: a consistency limit, a news restriction or a prohibited trading practice listed in its terms. Read the firm’s funded-account rules and prohibited strategies before you trade the account, not when you request the payout.
Does a consistency rule reset after each payout?
At most firms that apply one at payout, yes: each cycle is measured from zero. A big first day in a new cycle raises how much you need to make before that cycle can be paid.
