About Prop Firm Chart
Plain-language prop firm comparisons: who we are, how we rate firms, how the site is funded and how to reach us.
About Prop Firm Chart
Prop Firm Chart exists for one reason: to make the prop firm landscape easier to navigate. Choosing a firm is not only about evaluation fees and profit splits. Drawdown rules, payout reliability, consistency conditions and the fine print decide whether a trader actually gets paid. We put those differences side by side, in plain language, so you can decide on facts rather than marketing.
Prop Firm Chart
We research, compare and keep up to date the rules, prices and payout terms of the prop firms we cover, and we publish how we do it so you can check our work.
“We don’t take payment to change a rating or a ranking. The formula is published below, every number links to its source, and if something is wrong, email us and we’ll fix it.”
Why we started
Prop trading has grown quickly, and the quality of firms varies widely. Some publish clear, trader-friendly terms. Others bury key conditions or lean on marketing that plays down the risks. Each firm also describes drawdown in its own way, and many do not accept traders from every country, so a fair comparison means reading a dozen separate rule pages.
We wanted a resource that explains how the conditions actually compare, not a list of firms with affiliate links. The country filter, the nightly rule scan and the published rating formula all come from that gap.
How we evaluate firms
Every firm is assessed against the same criteria, using one standard account per firm so the numbers line up:
- Evaluation rules, profit target and minimum trading days
- Drawdown type, maximum loss and daily loss limit
- Payout conditions, profit split and payout timing
- Pricing at list price, including any activation fee
- Supported platforms and country eligibility
- Published trader feedback, taken from Trustpilot
Our rankings are not for sale, and we do not take payment to change a rating. Where something cannot be verified we say so, and we name the source and its date instead of filling the gap with assumptions. The full formula is under How our rating works, and the fields we record are listed under What we compare.
How we make money
Prop Firm Chart is free to use. Some links to prop firms on this site may be affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We disclose this wherever it applies, in line with advertising-disclosure guidance such as the US FTC’s. Affiliate relationships never affect:
- The data we show
- The order of the comparison table or the rankings
- The order of the deals page
- The quiz results
Firms we have no affiliate deal with are listed and rated exactly the same way. An affiliate relationship does not mean we overlook restrictive rules or payout drawbacks: our editorial assessments are kept separate from our commercial ones.
What we do not do
We are not a prop firm, a broker or a financial adviser. We do not provide funded accounts, and nothing on this site is financial advice. Trading, including trading a funded account, carries a real risk of loss.
Our role is to organise publicly available information and our own research so you can ask better questions before you commit your own money. Prop firms change prices and rules often, so always confirm the current terms on the firm’s own website before you pay.
Trust and verification
We hold every firm to the same editorial standard. Each firm page links its sources with their dates, and prices and core rules are checked on the firm’s own website. An automated scan also checks firms’ rule pages every night and flags anything that changed. Each change is logged on the public rule-change tracker, and each firm page shows when it was last checked.
What we compare
For each firm we track one standard account so the numbers line up: $50K for futures firms and, for forex firms, usually the $100K two-step challenge (or the closest standard account where a firm no longer sells one). On the compare page, the forex price column instead shows each firm’s cheapest evaluation plan, so you can see the lowest way in; the rules beside it stay on the $100K. For each account we record 10 things:
- 01Evaluation price, and whether it’s monthly or one-time
- 02Activation fee after passing
- 03Profit target
- 04Maximum loss, and whether it’s static, end-of-day or intraday trailing
- 05Daily loss limit
- 06Consistency rule
- 07Minimum trading days
- 08Profit split
- 09Payout timing
- 10Supported platforms
Where the numbers come from
We check each firm’s terms against at least one published source and link every source on the firm’s page, with its date. Prices and core rules are checked on each firm’s own website, and we update a firm’s page as soon as its terms change.
- 1Read the firm’s sitePrice, rules and payout terms for one standard account
- 2Record 10 data pointsThe same fields for every firm, each with its source
- 3Scan every nightAn automated check flags rule pages that changed
- 4Log the changeUpdates appear on the public rule-change tracker
How “cost to get funded” works
It is the evaluation fee plus any activation fee you pay after passing, at list price. For monthly evaluations we count one month. It assumes you pass first time. We don’t use short-term promo prices, because they change weekly.
List prices, not sale prices. Cost to get funded, sorting and ratings all use each firm’s list price as shown on its own website. Some firms run large discounts most weeks (Apex Trader Funding and Phidias, for example), so we show any sale that is live on the firm’s site right now beside the list price, and never an assumed “typical” discount. Current sales are on the deals page.
How our rating works
Every firm gets a score out of 10, shown wherever the firm appears. It is the plain average of four parts, each scored out of 10 from the data on this site, so you can check every number:
Cost to get funded
Measured as a share of the account size, so a $50K futures account and a $100K forex account are judged fairly. 0.2% of the account or less scores 10, 1.2% or more scores 3, and everything in between is placed on a straight line. For example, $200 to fund a $50K account (0.4%) scores 8.6.
Payouts and split
Half from the profit split (100% scores 10, 90% scores 8, 80% scores 6) and half from how soon a first payout is possible (2 days or less scores 10; over 21 days scores 3.5).
Rule friendliness
The average of four checks. Drawdown type: static 10, end-of-day trailing 7, intraday trailing 4. Daily loss limit: none 10, optional 8.5, forced 6. Consistency rule: none 10, 50% or looser 7.5, 40% 6.5, stricter 5. Minimum days: none 10, up to 3 scores 8.5, up to 5 scores 7, more than 5 scores 5.
Trader reviews
From the firm’s Trustpilot TrustScore, where 3.0 or lower scores 0 and 5.0 scores 10. Firms with few reviews are pulled towards 5, because a small sample says less. If Trustpilot withholds a firm’s score after removing fake reviews, this part scores 1.5 and we show a ⚠ warning.
- 8.5+Excellent
- 7.5+Very good
- 6.5+Good
- 5.5+Fair
- <5.5Weak
Trustpilot scores and review counts were checked on 16 October 2026. The rating describes the account we track, not every program a firm sells, and affiliate deals never change it.
Country eligibility
Most firms don’t accept traders living in some countries, usually because of sanctions, payment problems or local rules. We record each firm’s restricted list and check it against the country you pick. Where we could, we took the list from the firm’s own help centre; otherwise from a dated third-party summary, which the firm page says.
The firm accepts you with conditions, such as fewer platforms or no live account.
The firm’s published list is incomplete.
Firms judge where you live, your ID and your payment method, and lists change, so always confirm at checkout. Your country choice is saved only in your browser.
How the quiz scores firms
The quiz adds points when a firm fits your budget, supports your platform and matches your view on daily loss limits, then weights your top priority: cost, profit split, payout speed or fewest rules. Firms that miss a requirement lose points and show a warning instead of disappearing. It never uses commissions.
Trader review policy
Trader reviews on firm pages are written by traders, not by us. We check every review before it appears, normally within 48 hours.
We publish
- Honest first-hand experiences, positive or negative, about rules, payouts, support and platforms
- Negative reviews: we never remove a review for being negative
- Reviews as written: we don’t edit them
We reject
- Spam, abuse and personal details
- Reviews that aren’t first-hand
- Reviews written by or for a firm or its competitors
- Payment from any firm to remove, hide or reorder reviews, whether or not we have an affiliate deal with it
One review per email per firm; sending another replaces your first and goes back to moderation. Your email is used only to stop duplicate and fake reviews. It is never shown. Trader reviews are shown separately and don’t yet change our rating.
